It is said to be a very "hearty wallpaper", "lovely" to hang, a "pleasure" to decide which panels go next to one anther - "a collaboration of sorts!"
SARKOS uses hand-mixed pigments & mediums to create innovative and
unique designs that move and play with the light as it changes.
Variations in color and texture are inherent in our designs;
these are a result of the handmade process and add to the overall beauty and unique quality of the space.
To ensure the highest quality of your new interior, we highly recommend for the professional installer to consider panel placement in relation to each panel as well as the specific installation environment, including finished lighting.
If there will be no room for the installer to view a few panels at a time, then by all means, let us know at least 1 week prior to shipment and we will order the panels in a manner pleasing to us!
UPON DELIVERY OF YOUR ORDER:
Damaged packaging:
If packaging is damaged to the point of causing damage to the purchased goods, do not accept the delivery. Take pictures if you can! Immediately make a claim with the carrier and contact us.
If package is not damaged, but the goods are - take photographs of everything, keep the goods in the packaging for our inspection, email us the photographs. We will respond with a phone call as soon as we can. If these measures are not taken we can not guarantee replacement of damaged goods.
Inspect all panels in your order. SARKOS can not take responsibility for any quality issues raised after the first 3 panels are cut, pasted or installed AND/OR within 10 business days of delivery receipt.
If you believe your product to be defective, and it has not yet been cut, pasted or installed, contact us within 10 days of delivery so we may review your order and claim.
We scrupulously check each panel at each stage of an order, but.. as we are humans and do everything by hand, we expect this to occur on rare occasion - and will very happily recover the panel, as determined by our discretion.
If the material is to be stored, after inspection- keep stored in the shipping box and in a temperature controlled, dry area out of danger of being crushed.
INSTALLER
We highly recommend using a professional installer listed as a member of the National Guild of Professional Paperhangers (www.ngpp.org).

TEST COLOR FASTNESS WITH ADHESIVE
Although each hand painted piece is tested and insured for quality, it is a good idea to test for color fastness: test a small extra section in order to understand how much water and rubbing water the paper will allow.

INSTALLATION GUIDE (each shipment will include an order specific guide, plus the following)
PRIOR TO INSTALL

Although each hand painted piece is tested and insured for quality, it is a good idea to test for color fastness: test a small edge section to understand how much adhesive, water and rubbing the paper will allow.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Installed wallpaper will only be as smooth as your wall.
We recommend quality blank liner stock to help seams lay flat and to minimize the risk of burnishing the seams. Apply liner stock horizontally and allow 24 hours to dry before sanding back any overlaps at the seams. Cavalier Liner is amazing and can be found at www.wallliner.com
Due the weight of our papers, we recommend using an adhesion promoting primer such as an R-35 (we like Roman’s) before installation, or if tintable primer is desired, use Zinsser Sheildz.
ADHESIVE APPLICATION
We like using Roman Pro-880 clear adhesive.
Recommended booking time is 5-8 minutes.
To obtain perfect seams, we recommend double-cutting on the wall (if you are experienced in this technique). If appropriate, use color specific chalk or marker to darken white edge of backing before hanging each drop.
We recommend using high quality delicate painters tape over the edge while double cutting to ensure the adhesive does not soak into the paper.
CARE & CLEANING
SARKOS wallpapers are more durable than one expects. Most designs have good water resistance and can be lightly scrubbed with a warm damp cloth - in order to spot clean. Specific instructions will be sent along with your panels.
